Elluminate for Students

Preparing your Computer

• Check to see that your computer meets the minimum operating system requirements.
• Visit the Elluminate Support site (checks your computer for necessary components).
• Ask your instructor if you will need to install any other software to read documents or to access other multi-media components during your Elluminate session.  For instance, you might need:
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader to read PDFs
  • Adobe Flash Player and RealPlayer to view video and audio

Learning to use Elluminate

• Review some orientation materials published by Elluminate; there are slide shows, animated demonstrations, and PDFs that are very useful

Accessing Elluminate Session

• Click on (or copy and paste) the link to the Elluminate Session provided by your instructor.

• Once you’re in your Elluminate session, be sure to run the Audio Setup Wizard under Tools > Audio > Audio Setup Wizard; this assures that you will be heard by other participants.
• Log in early (15-30 minutes) so there is plenty of time for you to load Elluminate and supporting programs; also, you will want to run the audio wizard before class begins so your microphone is at optimal performance levels

Recorded Sessions

If your instructor has recorded Elluminate sessions for student viewing, (s)he will provide a link to the recordings.
