Closing out your Blackboard Courses
Course
Evaluations The online evaluation system begins three weeks before the semester ends. A reminder note is sent out via email at the appropriate intervals -- whether mid-semester for 8 week courses or at the end of the semester -- when the online course evaluations become available for all online students and for onground courses which have been identified for using the online evaluation. A UIS Netid and Password are required to submit evaluations. Faculty cannot view results until after grades have been turned in. Normally, a hyperlink to the online evaluation system is placed as a hot link in the discussion board with an announcement directing the students to the board or in the BlackBoard announcement section of the course. Students should be made aware that the online form submits directly to the VCAA’s office and that the instructor will not see the results of the evaluation until after grades have been submitted. If you or your students are uncomfortable with this process, you may request the VCAA send evaluation forms to you so that you may mail them directly to the students with a return envelope to the VCAA office. Turning in grades Incompletes Please notify OTEL via email: otel@uis.edu, if you have students who will be taking incompletes in your course, and you wish to give continued access only to incomplete students.
