TURN IT IN!

You'll need to submit all your work to me using Turn It In.com, a website that helps students avoid plagiarism and checks papers for originality. Print out these instructions and get started!

To establish an account & enroll in our class:

To get started, click here. Once you're in the Turn It In page I'd save it to your favorites, because you'll have to submit additional work to me via the website. Click on the CREATE USER PROFILE hyperlink to establish an account. It’s at the upper right portion of the screen. You should now be in the CREATE NEW USER PROFILE (STEP 1) screen. Select the type of user (student) and click NEXT. At STEP 2 type in 1077789 as the CLASS ID and methods as the PASSWORD. Click NEXT. At STEP 3 enter your email address (preferably your UIS account) and click NEXT. This will be your username for Turn It In, If you use multiple email accounts make sure you keep track of the email address you used to establish this Turn It In account. You should now be at STEP 4. Create a password for yourself at this step. (Hint: use any password you like, just make sure you follow Turn It In’s guidelines and you remember your password!). Click NEXT. You should now be in STEP 5 where you should enter information about yourself. Click NEXT. At STEP 6. Voila! You’re registered.

If you want to login to our class Turn It In page at this point, click on the end wizard and go to login page.

To login (after you’ve established an account and enrolled in our class):

You login to Turn It In at their homepage: http://www.turnitin.com. At the top right portion of the screen type in your email address and the password you created when you established your Turn It In account and click LOGIN.

To submit a paper:

To submit a paper you need to have completed all the steps on this worksheet and be currently logged into our class. Click on the RESEARCH METHODS IN PSYCHOLOGY hyperlink in the WELCOME PAGE. Click on the SUMBIT hyperlink for the appropriate assignment. (It’s an icon of a little paper with a blue arrow to the left of it.) At the next screen at the drop down menu labeled SUBMIT A PAPER BY select the FILE UPLOAD OPTION. Give your paper a title in the SUBMISSION TITLE area. Make sure the title of your paper includes your name, the assignment, and the term. For example, Marcel Yoder, Article Summary, fall 2004 would be great. In the BROWSE FOR THE FILE YOU WANT TO UPLOAD area click on the BROWSE tab and find the file you want to send. Please make sure that your entire paper (title page, body, and reference page) is in 1 file. Click SUBMIT. (Hint: sometimes this step is kind of tricky. Keep trying!) Next, you'll want to confirm that the paper you've submitted is the correct version, then click YES, SUMBIT. The text that will appear on the screen won’t have your formatting on it. Don’t worry about that. As long as the text is correct you are fine. Your formatting will be preserved in the version that I receive even though you don’t see it here. Print the TURNITIN DIGITAL RECIEPT page or save it. Make special note of the PAPER ID that Turn It In gave you. You're finished! Good job.
